Animal Hybrids

Hello all!

Today we will learn how to make animal hybrids! We will use the selection tool, copy and paste, and blur and clone to work through this.

While you are waiting for me to finish the demonstration with the other module, please find 3 different HIGH quality photos of animals (go to advanced search under google images and change your image size to 1024x....). Also find a background image for your animal.

December 17th

Good day!

Part 1:

Today we are going to learn how to do colour isolations! While you are waiting, find 3 photos that you took during the last unit and move them to your desktop for easy access. These are the photos you will turn into a colour isolation. If you are finished this, then you can continue playing with photoshop. Instead of creating a hamburger with layers, try creating an ice cream sunday with all the layers. Try doing as much detail as possible with multiple tones, etc.

Part 2:

After our presentation, you will create a colour isolation of the 3 photos you have chosen. These should be done well-I will zoom in on these photos so they should be clean, neat, and tidy. Post all 3 onto your blog. If you finish this, go back to your sundae drawing.

December 13th

Hello!

At the beginning of class, I'd like you to continue practicing our workflow that we learned last class. Please post at least 2 before and after photos of the following edits:

1. Adjusting the overall tonality (levels)
2. Adjusting the colour balance
3. Adjusting the Vibrancy

After I finish my presentation with the other group, we will do the following:

Today we will start by looking at layers! Layers are an essential part of photoshop and something that needs to be used acurately. We will also explore with some of the drawing tools today to create our own graphic.

Once you are done the 2 versions of the "hamburger" you may have free time to explore the possibilities of photoshop! I would like you to look at some of the filter options in particular, but be sure to make each adjustment a separate layer and make a background copy!

Hello and welcome to the first day of photoshop. Thank your for being patient will I teach the other section of the course first.

To start off the class, I'd like you to respond to the following questions on your blog as I teach the first half of the class. Please work on these quiet, and reflectively. If you finish these, make sure that you finished your blog reflections from Thursday that ask about the responses you received to your survey.

1. What are you looking forward to learning how to do in photoshop?

2. What have you heard are the common things photoshop can do, i.e. "oh, that's definitely photoshopped!" "Just photoshop me in the photo!"

3. Do you think there many be any ethical/social concerns when using an editing program like photoshop? What are these issues? Please answer in paragraph form. Consider advertising, marketing, etc. Are there copyright concerns? Self-esteem issues? Etc.

AFTER THE PRESENTATION

Getting Started With Photoshop:

Today I will introduce you to a basic workflow that you can use for enhancing the overall balance of your images. This is a basic and handy thing to know how to do. We will start with the most important and work our way to the least important: Tonal Adjustments, Colour Balance, Vibrancy.
After the presentation, please edit 3 photos to improve their overall quality. Take your time with this activity and achieve the best version of the photo as possible. You can use your own photos or some from google images but at least one of your edited photos must be once that you took.
